Snow

Frosty is the morning;
But the sun is bright,
Flooding all the landscape
With its golden light.
Hark the sounds of laughter
And the voices shrill!
See the happy children
Coasting down the hill.

I actually had some photos of Addi looking right at the camera and smiling, but for some reason, I really liked the hope in her eyes in this one above and her gentle and slightly unsure smile.

I love the way that the sun caught the blowing snow in the photo below. Addi was loving every moment of the sled ride (behind the ranger), but every time we came around the side of a building and the wind caught us in just the right way, it would pick up the light and fluffy snow and blow it right in our faces and she was not a fan of that, nor of the bright golden sun in her eyes. As soon as we passed out of the wind's way, she was full of smiles again, but I just love the light and the snow here.

 Cliff and his Dad. I think if this photo were black and white, it could look like it was 50 years old.  In fact...

If it weren't for the telephone pole, the plastic sled, and the elevator leg sticking up above the milkhouse, it could pass for much older than 50 years old. I love scenes like this, ...timeless.

So fun! I love that your capturing these memories and documenting them! Especially the farm :)

Thank you @Alli! It's important to me to preserve these memories for my kids. Although I remember certain things about my grandparents' house, I know those memories would be so much more vivid with pictures and journaling. :)

I love how you take small moments to do fun things with your kids! You are a fun mom!

Oh Big Sis, I think Gavin would disagree with you on that one. He is always telling me that I never play with him and that we never do anything fun. He says I am always cleaning the house. Funny, you'd think the house would be clean then, but it isn't!! :)
