3 Months Old

Gavin was three months old last Thursday, February 19th. Tomorrow will be 14 weeks since the day he was born. I almost can't remember what life was like before him - although I got a little reminder yesterday. I took yesterday off work to spend the day with my sister Kristin who was in town for the weekend for Gavin's baptism. (See Gavin's shirt in photo below). I brought Gavin to daycare and then came back home to quickly shower, dress, and head in to "the cities" to meet up with Kristin. When I got back home to shower, I had this incredible realization that I was home alone... the baby wasn't going to wake up, Cliff wasn't around, the dog was outside, the cat was sleeping... I was all by myself and no one needed me... for anything. The sun was out and was reflecting off the snow outside. It was a wonderful feeling. My quick shower turned into a long hot steaming soak... a shower turned bath turned shower again. I shaved my legs... I put on lotion... I took an hour to get dressed and I even put my make-up on in my bathroom in front of the mirror - not in the car while driving somewhere. It was a real pleasure... until I realized I was already supposed to be at my parents' house to meet Kristin and I hadn't left home yet! So, then I rushed over there, but I really did enjoy my day. Mom, Kristin and I surprised my sister Laura at work with birthday cake and a Caramel High Rise coffee. Then my sisters Liane and Joanne both came to Mom & Dad's and we ended up rearranging the living room. We moved furniture all around, hung a picture on the wall, brought a chair up from the basement and brought a different one back down there. We pushed, pulled, turned, lifted, stacked, and unstacked and the living room looks really nice! A few throw pillows and some window shades and the room will be perfecto! Then Kristin and I ran to Maplewood Mall quickly to get her ears pierced. We had imagined a liesurely stroll through the mall, doing a bit of shopping, browsing, stopping for an orange julius or a salted pretzel... but we had one hour until Kristin had to leave for the airport so we ran in, got her ears pierced, and ran out. That was okay, we probably didn't need to be spending money at the mall anyway. We got back to my parents' house just in time for Kristin and my Dad to head out for the airport and Me and my Mom to head to my house. Today is Grandma's day to watch Gavin, so she just rode out to my house with me and my Dad will come and get her tonight. Cliff picked Gavin up from daycare yesterday so I didn't have to be home until about 7:00. I had an entire day of play and I really enjoyed it (Okay, I did miss Gavin a little).
We had a busy weekend with Gavin's baptism on Saturday night and going to a Crab Cook on Sunday, but Gavin was a real trooper. He was feeling much better by the weekend and did very well at his baptism. Almost all of my family was there as well as Cliff's parents and some of our closest friends. Gavin sure was surrounded with love. Everyone came over to our house after the baptism for some soup, salad, and sandwiches. Gavin went to bed around 9:30 and slept until 7:00 Sunday morning. He was great on Sunday at Dan & Sarah's Crab Cook and slept well again that night. He had his last dose of Zithromax yesterday and seems like his old self again. He went to bed last night at 7:45 and slept until 5:00am and then went back to sleep at 5:30 and slept until 9:00am. What a great sleeper! He spent today at home with Grandma and she said he had a very good day.

Here is Gavin at 3 Months old compared to 1 & 2 Months old! He's growing!

It's so fun seeing the comparison pictures! Glad he did well at the baptism! Millie's is March 15th!

Wow, you are lucky to have a nice Mother's room at work!

I added the direct links to the two scrubs videos I posted.

I know what you mean, I am home sick today and it's actually somewhat enjoyable because I am by MYSELF, for the first time in I don't know how long!!!!
